Organised by Hub furniture, exclusive importers of Moroso to Australia, Patrizia Moroso was in Australia early October to participate in a Design Speed Date program, where 20 pre-selected creatives in Melbourne and Sydney got a few minutes to elevator-pitch the most powerful woman in design today.
Over the past twenty-five years, by combining technology and craftsmanship, Patrizia Moroso has succeeded in building up a collection of iconic design products, all sharing the same essence, while maintaining the uniqueness and diversity of the local origins of each piece. With courage and determination she has managed to bring together artisanal know-how with industrial production processes, combining design, contemporary art and fashion to create her unmistakable stamp.
Moroso, one of the world's leading furniture manufacturers since 1952 and is synonymous with forward-thinking design and redefining traditional concepts of the way people interact with space. Thanks to Patrizia Moroso, the company has earned a reputation as the go-to gauge of tomorrow’s design, with designers including Patricia Urquiola, Marc Newson, Ron Arad, Tom Dixon and Doshi&Levien to name a few.
I was chosen to be part of this amazing experience and got the chance to sit down with Patrizia and talk one on one. It was definitely an invaluable opportunity and couldn't thank Hub Furniture enough for selecting me.
